If you lost your precious family pet, how would you find him/her? What permanent identification does your little angel have that would help get them home to you?
According to Animal Shelter Statistics, 28% of dogs and only 5% of cats will be reunited with their owners. This data is shocking and depressing, but unfortunately true. The good news is that there is an inexpensive, safe, and easy way to identify your animal: microchipping.
Microchipping is a simple procedure in which a microchip is placed in your animal during an appointment with your veterinarian. A small (micro) chip is placed underneath the skin between the shoulder blades with a needle. This microchip has an identification number that is registered to your name, address, and pet. You are registered online in minutes, and the only thing that you must do is update your information if you change your address or phone number.
With a microchip, you can prove your ownership, and you have maximized your pets’ chance of coming back home!
Contact Lomsnes Veterinary Hospital at 403-342-6040 and make an appointment for your pet to have a microchip implanted.
