Comprehensive wellness exams and disease prevention tailored specifically for tiny pets.
Pocket pets are becoming more popular, with the most common being rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. These pets often get overlooked for a yearly wellness exam as they do not get vaccinated and spend most of their time in a cage. Our veterinarians will perform a wellness exam, look at their teeth, talk about nutrition, and answer any questions you may have about caring for your pocket pet. Unfortunately, these critters will hide all signs of illness and will only start showing signs of sickness when they are very ill. Our veterinarians can help you care for your pocket pet in all stages of their life.
We provide services for the two main species of pocket pets- rodents (guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, mice and gerbils), lagomorphs (rabbits), and hedgehogs. It is always recommended to have our veterinarians perform a yearly wellness exam to ensure they are in peak physical condition. During a wellness exam, our veterinarians will discuss common problems including overgrown teeth, as the teeth continually grow throughout their life, skin conditions and nutrition.
Nutrition is an important part of raising a healthy and happy pocket pet. Rodents (guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, mice and gerbils), lagomorphs (rabbits), and hedgehogs should have a diet consisting of hay, pellets, and fruits and vegetables. Our veterinarians will answer any questions you have about feeding your pocket pet.
